Thousands Rally in London Against Trumps Visit Over Gaza Support and Epstein Ties
Thousands of protesters marched through central London to voice opposition to Donald Trump’s second state visit to the United Kingdom. Organized by the Stop Trump Coalition with support from human rights groups, demonstrators filled Parliament Square holding banners and chanting against Trump’s support for Israel’s war in Gaza and his past ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
The protests intensified when activists projected images linking Trump and Epstein onto Windsor Castle ahead of a state banquet hosted by King Charles III. The act drew significant attention and led to arrests, with four people taken into custody. The projections were aimed at highlighting ethical concerns surrounding Trump’s past associations.
While the visit was accompanied by royal ceremonies, including a banquet and military pageantry, it has also stirred public discontent. Many British citizens expressed outrage at the government’s decision to give Trump such a high-profile welcome, while others defended the event as an important display of UK–US diplomatic relations.
Opinion polls show a deeply divided public. A large segment opposes Trump’s state invitation, particularly due to his foreign policy stance on Gaza and his controversial past connections, while another portion believes maintaining close relations with the United States is essential. Despite these divisions, the protests drew an estimated 5,000 people in central London.
The demonstrations underline the tension surrounding Trump’s visit. Critics continue to pressure the UK government to address concerns about foreign policy, human rights, and the reputation risk of hosting such a controversial figure.
