Sanwo-Olu's Call for Unity: Refrain from Politicking in Governance

Lagos Governor calls for unity and responsible leadership in Nigeria’s democratic space

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has called on political leaders across party lines to focus on good governance rather than politicizing every issue, stressing that the people deserve better from their elected representatives.

Sanwo-Olu Warns Against Constant Politicking

Speaking during a recent public engagement, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the need for unity in leadership and urged politicians to stop treating governance as an extension of electoral battles.

“The time for campaigning is over. What Nigerians need now is service delivery, transparency, and collective leadership to address national challenges,” he said.

The Governor Advocates Collaborative Development

Sanwo-Olu encouraged leaders at both federal and state levels to prioritize national development above partisan interests. He reiterated that governance should not be held hostage by political rivalries, especially in times of economic strain and social unrest.

“Let us drop the politics and focus on the people. That’s the only way we can build trust and progress together.”

Lagos as a Model of Non-Partisan Leadership

Under his administration, Sanwo-Olu highlighted several ongoing developmental projects in Lagos as examples of what can be achieved through collaborative governance. He urged other regions to adopt similar models that transcend political divisions.
