Disney Opens World of Frozen as New CEO Showcases Theme Park Empire
Disney World of Frozen Paris opening 2026
Disneyland Paris entered a transformative new era on Sunday, March 29, 2026, with the grand opening of the highly anticipated World of Frozen and the official rebranding of its second gate as Disney Adventure World. This milestone marks the first major international appearance for the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, Josh D’Amaro, who officially took the helm of the Walt Disney Company on March 18 after nearly three decades within the theme parks division. The expansion represents a 2 billion euro investment that has nearly doubled the footprint of the former Walt Disney Studios Park, reflecting D’Amaro’s career-long commitment to immersive storytelling and high-tech guest experiences. During a high-profile tour alongside French President Emmanuel Macron earlier this weekend, D’Amaro emphasized the long-term partnership between Disney and France, noting that the expansion has already created over 1,000 new jobs in the region.
At the heart of the new land is the meticulously detailed Kingdom of Arendelle, which features the flagship attraction Frozen Ever After, a musical boat journey that utilizes next-generation robotics to bring beloved characters like Elsa, Anna, and Olaf to life. Guests entering through the newly debuted Adventure Way promenade are greeted by Adventure Bay, a massive central lake designed to host the “Disney Cascade of Lights,” an all-new nighttime spectacular featuring air and sea drones. This reimagined park layout also includes the family-friendly Raiponce Tangled Spin and a variety of themed dining locations, such as the Regal View Restaurant and Lounge. The inauguration ceremony, held on Saturday evening, saw Disney leadership and the creative team behind Frozen celebrate the completion of the resort’s most ambitious expansion since its opening in 1992.
The rebranding to Disney Adventure World signifies a shift in strategy for the European resort, moving away from the “behind-the-scenes” studio theme toward a focus on fully realized worlds inspired by Disney Animation, Pixar, and Marvel. This transition is expected to continue well beyond the Frozen debut, with construction already underway for a future immersive area dedicated to The Lion King. Industry analysts suggest that this successful launch serves as a powerful showcase of D’Amaro’s executive vision, solidifying his reputation as a leader who prioritizes the tangible magic of the physical parks. As global tourists flock to Marne-la-Vallée to experience the Kingdom of Arendelle for the first time, the resort is poised to maintain its status as Europe’s number one tourist destination. For those planning a visit, official park maps and reservation systems have been updated to reflect the new lands and attractions.
