The White House confirmed on Monday that the group includes prominent leaders from the technology, finance, aerospace, and agricultural sectors, signaling the administration’s intent to secure massive commercial agreements alongside geopolitical negotiations.
Among the most notable participants are Elon Musk of Tesla and SpaceX, Tim Cook of Apple, and David Solomon of Goldman Sachs. The inclusion of these industry titans suggests that the summit with President Xi Jinping will focus heavily on unlocking market access and finalizing multi-billion dollar purchase agreements that have been stalled by recent global tensions.
The financial sector is heavily represented in the delegation, reflecting the administration’s push to expand American banking and investment footprint in the Chinese market. Joining Solomon are Larry Fink of BlackRock, Stephen Schwarzman of Blackstone, and Jane Fraser of Citigroup.
These leaders are expected to engage in discussions regarding the proposed “Board of Investment,” a new bilateral mechanism designed to manage capital flows between the world’s two largest economies.
