Russia Unleashes ‘Massive Enemy Attack’ on Kyiv, Killing One and Injuring Dozens of Civilians
Russia launched a massive, combined aerial attack on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, overnight on November 14, 2025, deploying a barrage of drones and multiple missile types that struck residential buildings and critical infrastructure across almost every district. The large-scale assault resulted in the confirmed death of at least one civilian and left a minimum of 24 people injured, including a pregnant woman and a 10-year-old boy, according to reports from Kyiv city officials. The extensive attack caused widespread destruction across the city, with at least eleven multi-storey residential buildings sustaining direct strikes or damage from falling debris across various districts, including Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi. Emergency services confirmed that one person tragically died in a fire that broke out on the upper floors of a high-rise building in the Desnianskyi district, where responders simultaneously rescued over a dozen people from the flames and rubble. Critical infrastructure was also targeted in the intense bombardment, leading to damage in sections of the city’s heating network, temporarily disrupting heat supply to some buildings, and prompting officials to warn residents of potential power and water outages.
Officials from the Kyiv City Military Administration, including its head Tymur Tkachenko, strongly condemned the indiscriminate nature of the strikes, emphasizing that the Russian forces were deliberately targeting residential buildings throughout the capital in a clear escalation of violence against the civilian population. Rescue operations involved emergency crews working across numerous neighbourhoods to extinguish fires, free trapped residents, and transport the wounded to medical facilities, with five injured individuals requiring hospitalization, one in a critical condition. The sustained, coordinated assault, which lasted for several hours and utilized both Shahed drones and various missile systems, marks one of the most significant aerial attacks on the Ukrainian capital in recent months, demonstrating Moscow’s continued focus on civilian and infrastructure targets.
