Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has been ruled out of tomorrow’s match and could also miss the upcoming Champions League clash against Newcastle due to injury concerns.
Head coach Hansi Flick expressed disappointment over how Yamal’s situation was handled during international duty with Spain. According to Flick, the Spanish national team gave the teenager painkillers and continued to play him despite holding a comfortable lead in their match.
“Spain gave him painkillers and even when they were winning they made him play. This is not taking care of the players. I’m very sad about this,” Flick said while addressing reporters.
The injury setback comes at a crucial point for Barcelona, who are already battling fitness concerns in their squad. Yamal’s absence could deal a significant blow to their attacking options as they look ahead to decisive fixtures both in La Liga and Europe.
