Hamas Partially Accepts Trumps Gaza Plan – Calls for Further Negotiations
Hamas has announced that it will accept certain elements of President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan to end the ongoing war in Gaza, but also emphasized that several key issues still require detailed discussion.
In its response, the group agreed to release Israeli hostages—both living and deceased—as outlined in Trump’s proposal, provided conditions on the ground are met. Hamas also expressed readiness to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to an independent technocratic Palestinian body supported by Arab and Islamic states.
However, the militant organization declined to commit to more contentious demands at this stage, including full disarmament and an Israeli withdrawal implemented in stages. Hamas said those aspects must be negotiated further within a broader Palestinian consensus and under international law.
Hamas expressed appreciation for international mediation efforts and signaled willingness to engage with mediators immediately to address remaining elements of the plan.
