Germany Arrests Three Men Suspected of Plotting Attacks on Jewish Institutions
German authorities have arrested three individuals suspected of being operatives for Hamas, accused of preparing violent attacks against Jewish and Israeli institutions within the country. According to federal prosecutors, the men had procured firearms and ammunition, including an AK-47 and several pistols, in readiness for possible assassinations.
The suspects, identified under privacy laws only as Abed Al G., Wael F. M., and Ahmad I., include two German citizens and one Lebanese-born individual. Investigators believe their involvement with Hamas dates back to the summer of 2025. The arrests were carried out in Berlin, where raids also uncovered weapons and large amounts of ammunition.
Germany’s Federal Prosecutor’s Office has charged the men with membership in a foreign terrorist organization and preparing acts of violence that endanger the state. A judge is expected to decide on their pre-trial detention in an upcoming court hearing.
The arrests come at a time of heightened vigilance across Europe amid growing concerns over antisemitic threats and plots linked to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. While prosecutors accuse the men of being tied to Hamas operations, the group has denied any connection, claiming the allegations are unrelated to its activities in Gaza and the Palestinian territories.
