Residents of a border community in Borno State have fled their homes and crossed into neighboring Cameroon following fears of an imminent Boko Haram attack. The panic erupted after reports of armed movements near the Nigerian border, prompting villagers to abandon their homes in haste.
Eyewitnesses say the mass exodus began at night, with families carrying few belongings as they sought safety across the border. Many are now sleeping on the streets of nearby Cameroonian towns, without adequate shelter, food, or medical care.
Local sources revealed that the Nigerian military has intensified patrols in the affected area, but fear remains high due to previous deadly raids by the insurgents.
