2 Herders Arraigned in Court Over Alleged Unlawful Grazing
Two herders, identified as Shehu Umaru, 40, and Muhammadu Riskua, 30, have been arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged unlawful grazing.
The two defendants were reportedly brought before the court after they were accused of engaging in grazing activities in an area where such activity was allegedly prohibited. The case was listed among the latest developments reported in Ekiti State.
The prosecution is expected to present evidence to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and the location where the cattle were reportedly grazed.
The case comes amid continued enforcement of laws regulating cattle grazing in parts of Nigeria. Such laws are designed to control open grazing and reduce conflicts between herders, farmers and landowners.
