Nigerian Railway Corporation Suspends Port Harcourt-Aba Train Service

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the suspension of train operations on the Port Harcourt-Aba route. The management explained that the decision was taken to allow urgent maintenance work on the rail track connecting both cities.

The NRC did not provide a specific date for the resumption of services but assured passengers that the suspension is temporary. According to the management, safety remains a top priority, and halting operations is necessary to restore the line to safe and reliable standards.

The corporation emphasized that once the maintenance work is completed, services will resume immediately. The Port Harcourt-Aba corridor has been an important route for travelers and traders, and the NRC reiterated its commitment to ensuring smooth transportation and improved infrastructure across its rail networks.

This suspension reflects the broader efforts to enhance railway facilities in Nigeria, aiming to make train travel safer and more dependable while contributing to economic growth and regional development.
