Disneyland Resort Confirms Layoff of 100 Cast Members Amid Operational Restructuring

Disneyland Resort has confirmed that around 100 cast members have been laid off as part of an internal restructuring effort aimed at streamlining operations and improving long-term efficiency. The company said the layoffs affect multiple departments, though the majority of the impacted roles are believed to be in administrative and entertainment-related positions.

A spokesperson for Disneyland Resort said the decision was “difficult but necessary” to align the company’s workforce with evolving business needs and changing guest demands. The layoffs come at a time when the broader entertainment and hospitality industries continue to adjust to post-pandemic trends and fluctuating attendance levels.

Reports indicate that the affected employees were informed earlier this week, with Disney offering severance packages and career transition support. Despite the job cuts, Disneyland Resort emphasized that it remains committed to maintaining a world-class guest experience and supporting its remaining cast members.

The restructuring follows similar workforce adjustments across other Disney divisions, as CEO Bob Iger continues his company-wide cost-cutting initiative, which includes reducing expenses while investing in new entertainment technologies and park enhancements.
