Argentina Outraged After Drug Gang Livestreams Killing of Three Young Women
Argentina has been left in shock after the brutal torture and killing of three young females was livestreamed in a private Instagram group. The victims, identified as Brenda del Castillo (20), Morena Verdi (20), and Lara Gutiérrez (15), were lured under false pretenses with the promise of attending a party. Instead, they were abducted by a drug gang operating in the southern suburbs of Buenos Aires.
Authorities revealed that the young women were tortured before their deaths, with parts of the abuse broadcast to about 45 viewers in a closed social media group. Their bodies were later discovered buried on the property where the crime took place. Investigators believe the murders were carried out as punishment after accusations that the victims had stolen narcotics from the gang.
Several suspects have been arrested, although the suspected mastermind remains at large. Officials say the gang used the livestreaming of the violence as a chilling tactic to spread fear and enforce control.
