FAAN Investigates Passenger Removal from Enugu Air Flight Over Phone Incident

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has launched an investigation after a passenger was removed from an Enugu Air flight for refusing to switch off his mobile phone before takeoff.

According to eyewitnesses, the passenger defied repeated instructions from the flight crew, leading to a disruption that delayed the flight. The airline staff, citing aviation safety regulations, requested the intervention of airport security who escorted the passenger off the aircraft.

FAAN stated that safety procedures on flights must be strictly adhered to, stressing that the use of mobile phones during critical stages of a flight poses risks to communication and navigation systems. Authorities added that disciplinary actions could follow depending on the outcome of the investigation.

The incident has sparked public debate about passenger compliance with in-flight rules, with aviation experts emphasizing the importance of safety over convenience.
