Inter Milan is reportedly preparing a fresh bid of €45 million, plus €8 million in add-ons, to sign Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman from Atalanta.
Sources close to the negotiations say Inter has already agreed to personal terms with the player, who is eager to join the Serie A giants. Lookman, 27, is expected to earn between €4 million and €5 million per season under the proposed deal.
This latest offer comes after Atalanta rejected Inter’s earlier €40 million bid, maintaining that their valuation of the player stands at €50 million. Inter hopes the additional performance-based bonuses included in their latest proposal will help bridge the gap.
Lookman had an outstanding 2024–25 season with Atalanta, notably scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final. His form has made him one of the most sought-after attackers in Europe this summer.
The Nigerian star is seen as a key part of Inter’s attacking plans, with the club looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2025–26 season. Manager Christian Chivu is reportedly keen to bring in Lookman to support the likes of Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram.
Inter has given Atalanta a deadline to respond and is also considering other transfer strategies, including a possible player swap involving midfielder Kristjan Asllani. If talks fall through, the club may turn its attention to other targets, such as Juventus forward Nico González.
Lookman is also on the radar of other clubs, including Atlético Madrid, but he is believed to favor a move to Inter Milan. Napoli had shown interest but are no longer in the race.
Negotiations are ongoing.
