Fubara Dissolves Rivers State Pensions Board with Immediate Effect
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has approved the immediate dissolution of the Rivers State Pensions Board. The announcement was made on Friday evening through a Government Special Announcement issued by the State Head of Service, Mrs. Inyingi Brown.
The statement directed all members of the dissolved board to hand over every property and asset belonging to the board in their possession to the Director of Administration of the Pensions Board.
Following this development, the functions previously assigned to the Pensions Board will now be managed by the Office of the State Accountant-General until a new board is constituted.
Although no official reason was provided for the dissolution, the decision signals a major administrative move by Governor Fubara as his government undertakes restructuring of key institutions in the state.
