Senator Hawley Calls for Special Prosecutor Over Alleged Biden Administration Weaponization
Senator Josh Hawley has called for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate what he describes as the “weaponization of government” under President Joe Biden’s administration. The Missouri Republican made the demand during a press briefing on Wednesday, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in federal institutions.
Hawley alleged that key federal agencies have been misused for political purposes, warning that such actions threaten democratic values and public trust in government. He urged Congress to support an independent inquiry free from partisan influence, saying the American people “deserve the truth without interference.”
The senator’s remarks follow a series of heated debates in Washington over the alleged targeting of political opponents and the growing calls from lawmakers for greater oversight of the Department of Justice and FBI operations.
Hawley insisted that a special prosecutor is the only credible path toward restoring confidence in the nation’s justice system and ensuring that “no administration, regardless of party, is above the law.”
