Gyokeres Scores Twice in Stunning Arsenal Debut as Gunners Dominate Leeds 5-0

Arsenal delivered a statement performance in front of a home crowd, overturning Leeds United with a commanding 5–0 victory at the Emirates. New signing Viktor Gyökeres announced himself in spectacular fashion—scoring twice, including a composed finish right after the break and a confident penalty in stoppage time, thanks to a foul won by 15-year-old debutant Max Dowman.

Jurrien Timber was the standout of the day, opening the scoring with a powerful header and later adding a second, along with an assist. Bukayo Saka provided a superb strike just before halftime before being forced off due to a hamstring issue. Captain Martin Ødegaard also exited early with a shoulder injury, casting a shadow over what was otherwise a clinical Arsenal display.

Manager Mikel Arteta lauded the team’s attacking depth and praised Dowman’s fearlessness on the big stage. However, the early injuries to key players left him cautious, particularly ahead of a challenging trip to face Liverpool.
