Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has criticized President Bola Tinubu for prioritizing a vacation abroad at a time when Nigeria is facing heightened security challenges. Obi stressed that the duty of protecting citizens should take precedence over personal engagements, especially for the head of state.
Obi pointed out that Nigerians are grappling with worsening insecurity, including kidnappings, insurgent attacks, and rising violence across several regions. He further emphasized that the president’s role as commander-in-chief is inseparable from national security responsibilities.
