US aid to Lebanon Armed Forces Hezbollah
The United States Department of War has announced a $14.2 million aid package to support Lebanon’s Armed Forces (LAF) in efforts to dismantle weapons stockpiles and military infrastructure belonging to non-state groups, including Hezbollah.
The aid package is designed to enhance the operational capacity of the LAF by providing resources for intelligence gathering, logistical support, and tactical operations. Washington emphasized that the support is aimed at strengthening Lebanon’s national security institutions while curbing the influence of armed factions operating outside state authority.
According to U.S. officials, the funding will help the LAF conduct missions targeting hidden weapons depots, training facilities, and supply networks linked to Hezbollah and other militant organizations. The initiative reflects Washington’s ongoing strategy of balancing counterterrorism efforts with support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and regional stability.
